Every attempt should be made to protect the patient while performing dental treatment. One should avoid procedural complications without any compromises. We have realized that there is always a apprehension, anxiety and fear while performing dental treatment. Swallowing of crown, bridge, impression material, sodium hypochlorite and endo instrument like k file & other files should be avoided.
For the decades, rubber dam application is mandatory during dental treatment for the protection of the patient from swallowing the instruments like K files These are potential hazards and may be fatal if they are swallowed. Incidence of swallowing K files and getting trapped in trachea or bronchial tract is recorded in the past history.
Advantages:

Working Mechanism
- i – Grip ring is put on the ring finger of the operator or one can clamp it to patient’s towel or drape and the spring of the hook is pressed by your thumb to hold the instrument and thumb is released to get sufficient grip of the instrument. Once the grip is secured one could hold the instrument and start working on the patient. If one slips the instrument by error, immediately pull the hand out from mouth to pull the slipped instrument.
